BARRIE and Ingrid Temple are the special guests of Waltham Abbey Folk Club on Monday (June 11).
The duo, who are from the Newcastle area, sing mostly unaccompanied, harmonised songs, although occasionally throw a bit of guitar in as well.
They play a mix of traditional and original tunes that range from serious to humorous.
Doors to the club, at the Royal British Legion building in Brooker Road, open at 8.30pm.
It costs £5.
The Bill Mudge Organ Trio perform at the E17 Jazz night at Walthamstow Cricket Club in Greenway Avenue next Wednesday (June 13).
The line-up includes Mr Mudge on the organ, Kevin Glasgow on bass guitar and Nick Smalley on drums.
Entry is £5 and doors open at 8.30pm.
Martin Wyndham-Read plays Walthamstow Folk Club on Sunday (June 10).
The highly respected singer is described as a notable ambassador for Australian folksongs.
The show, at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre put in Hoe Street, gets going from 7.30pm.
Admission is £6, with a discount for concessions.
A new jazz night called 'Catalog' launches at the Birkbeck Tavern in Langthorne Road, Leyton, on Friday (June 8).
It's headlined by the Ryan Williams Flashmob with support from the Andrew Button Trio.
The gig is organised by promoters Mr Button and Kirstie McAra.
It costs £4.50p and is in the upstairs room of the pub between 7.30pm and 11pm.
Cajun-blues-rock act Cajun Dogs play the Birkbeck on Saturday (June 9) at a night put on by promoters What's Cookin'.
Also playing is acoustic duo The Snakes.
It begins at 8.30pm and is free, although donations welcome.
Welsh country-folk group Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog take to the stage at the venue on Wednesday (June 13).
It's free and starts at 8.30pm.
Alan Francis performs at Loughton Folk Club on Thursday (June 7) at a benefit show for lifeboat charity the RNLI.
Mr Francis has a huge repertoire of songs including a variety of styles, from ballads to blues.
Entrance is just £3 and it's from 8pm at the Loughton Club building in Station Road.
