A MUM and her daughter each bravely had 16 inches of hair snipped off to be made into childrens' wigs.
Laura Goodman, 29, of Hale End Road, Woodford Green, and her mum Claire Perry, 57, Lechmere Approach, faced the chop on Saturday (May 26) and raised £1800 in the process.
The hair and the money will be donated to The Little Princess Trust.
Mrs Goodman said: "The day went very well. I was petrified how my hair was going to look, but I don't hate it has much as I thought it would."
The two women had been growing their flowing blond locks for over a year with the intention of donating their hair to be made into wigs for children who had suffered hair loss through cancer treatments.
The money raised is enough to provide wigs for six children.
Debra Christy hairdressers, on Hermon Hill, South Woodford was responsible for providing the women with their new bobbed haircuts.
