SEVEN uninsured vehicles were taken off Redbridge roads in a Borough wide police operation.
On Thursday (May 24) 83 police officers worked from 7am to 7pm, using speed cameras to check for motoring offences on Overton Drive in Wanstead and Fencepiece Road, Cranbrook Road, Barkingside High Street and Wangey Road in Ilford.
Five arrests were made and five cannabis warnings were also given.
Acting Chief Inspector Darvill said: “Operation Cubo was a huge success taking seven uninsured vehicles off the road.
"The police officers and PCSOs from Safer Neighborhood Teams worked extremely hard to make it such a success.
"I would like to let the residents of Redbridge know that we will not tolerate such criminal activities happening in our borough.”
Operation Cubo targets vehicle offences and officers are able to seize uninsured vehicles and deal with driving offences such as driving with no license or no insurance.
