A WORLD renowned cellist will give a performance in aid of raising money for a new mobile therapy playbus for a children's charity.
Alexander Baillie will be accompanied on piano by John Thwaites at the Carefree Kids concert at Forest School, College Place, Snaresbrook, on Saturday June 9 at 7pm.
He began playing the cello aged 12 and has appeared with many British orchestras, regularly appearing as cello soloist in concertos, recitals and festivals throughout the world.
Carefree Kids chairwoman, Anne Dufton, said: "We are honoured that Alexander Baillie has agreed to perform in this concert for free.
"As well as being a wonderful evening of entertainment for people from Waltham Forest, Redbridge and beyond, this will be an essential fundraising event to help troubled local children, which in turn benefits all local people."
Carefree Kids is a Leytonstone based charity.
The charity currently receives financial support for the bus from BBC Children in Need, however the playbus is now 20 years old and urgently needs replacing which is estimated to cost £30,000-£35,000.
Forest School, College Place, Snaresbrook is kindly donating the venue at no cost for the night.
Tickets can be bought by emailing carefree.kids@btinternet.com or phoning 020 8558 7799 and are priced £10 each and £8 for concessions.
