MYSTERY still surrounds what happened to a man who was beaten and abducted from the street.

Police have made their third appeal for information over the incident, which happened at the junction of Bunyan Road and Queen Elizabeth Road in Walthamstow at 4pm on April 26.

Witnesses say they saw two men stop a silver Mercedes, before dragging the driver out of the car and beating him while he was on the ground.

The men then placed the victim in the back of the vehicle and drove off in the direction of Higham Hill Road.

The victim has still not been identified.

He is described as being of southern or eastern European appearance with an olive skin tone, dark hair and is thought to be approximately 18 to 25 years old.

The attackers are described as a southern or east European man aged in their 20s.

Both had short dark hair, olive skin, with a slim build and were about 5ft 6ins.

No arrests have been made.
