A DAUGHTER has praised Whipps Cross University Hospital for its "fantastic" care of her dying mother.
Pam Carpenter's mother Florence Marsh died at the Margaret Centre on the Leytonsone hospital site in March after suffering a stroke.
Mrs Marsh, 100, was found by her carer on the floor of her home in Station Road, Chingford, and taken to Whipps.
Mrs Carpenter, 63, said: "It was really worrying when we heard the news.
"But though mother didn't make it I can only give the staff credit for their work - they were fantastic.
"It was nerve-racking because we live so far away, so we would worry, but they kept in touch with us and would tell us straight away if anything had happened."
Once it became obvious that Mrs Marsh, a great-grandmother, was not going recover, she was moved to the Margaret Centre.
"They really did look after my mother in such a fantastic manner," she added.
"There's no excuse for bad care but we didn't experience that. We couldn't have asked for more."
