THE Wallace and Gromit theme tune and popular classical pieces will be among the music being performed at an organ concert.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Dukas and Night on Bare Mountain by Mussorgsky will also be among the pieces being played by Stephen Bullamore, director of music at Waltham Abbey Church, on June 16.
The concert is being organised by Nicola Jarmaine, of The Abbey Independent Funeral Directors, in aid of St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood.
“As funeral directors, we hear many wonderful things about St Clare Hospice,” she said. “My first visit to a hospice was many years ago, to The Beacon, a hospice in Brighton for people with AIDS, and it was a life-changing experience.
“I will never forget the supportive words from the receptionist and the turquoise sheets on the bed in the bright and sunny room where my dying friend lay.
“From that moment, I’ve been a great believer in the enormous value of hospice work.”
For tickets, which cost £8 for adults and £6 for concessions, visit the church office or call the funeral directors on 01992 711892.
