HEAVY rainfall caused flooding in Roydon this morning.
Worst hit was a house in Sedge Green, with fire-fighters being called to help pump out water from the property at 6.30am this morning (Sunday July 8).
A spokesman for the fire service said the living room of the house was one foot deep in water and the electrics had been affected.
Emergency services dealt with the incident by 7.30am and the council is now helping to clear up the damage.
The Environment Agency said this morning that further rainfall is likely in the region today, but it currently does not expect there to be any "significant" or widespread flooding.
In a statement it said: "Some minor surface water flooding to low lying roads and gardens is possible where drainage is poor."
