DISABLED people are invited to take part in an arts parade next month when a six-metre high sculpture will roam the streets of the borough.
Waltham Forest MENCAP wants 30 volunteers to help it create medieval costumes and musical instruments before taking part in the parade itself in August, when a huge Lady Godiva will travel around the borough on the backs of 100 cyclists.
The event on Sunday, August 5 is one of 12 which will mark the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad and the giant puppet will journey from The Ridgeway, Chingford, to the town hall in Forest Road, Walthamstow.
MENCAP hopes the volunteers can help create the costumes and instruments for the parade at a series of workshops starting on Saturday, July 14.
They are being run in partnership with local art group Inky Cuttlefish.
If you want to take part please call Gaye Studman on 020 3233 0855.
