TV STARGAZER professor Brian Cox handed out awards on a night to remember at Redbridge College.

Professor Cox, who has presented successful BBC series’ including ‘Wonders of the Universe’ and ‘Stargazing Live’, said: “This was fifth Student Awards I have been to at the college and I just find it uplifting every year, and genuinely enjoyable.

“From my perspective, the college just seems to be a place of success and gets better and better.

“I always leave with a sense of possibility - there must be something about Redbridge College that encourages and instills that.”

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business student, Tobi Ogunjimi won the college’s Student of the Year award.

He said: “I was shocked when my name was announced and still am.

“I didn’t think I stood a chance, I thought someone else would win.

“My mum, uncle and brother were here tonight – from the big smiles on their faces I think they are very happy and proud.”

The Student Awards 2012 marked the end of a successful year for the college, which saw it ranked the number one college in greater London for learner success rates.
