PUPILS from Aldersbrook Primary School designed a Snakes and Ladders style Olympic board game to share with pensioners.
In turn the older generation taught the year four pupils, from the school in Ingatestone Road, Wanstead, games such as Ludo and Dominoes at a games session yesterday afternoon (July 10).
The 12 pensioners, who came from groups at St Gabriel's Church, in Aldersbrook Road, even had a go at playing video games.
Martyn Hawkes, vicar at St Gabriel's, said: "I think it was an enjoyable afternoon. One woman even asked if we were coming back next week to do it all again."
Headteacher of the Wanstead school, Brian Hughes, said: "The children absolutely loved it.
"It was a wonderful opportunity for learning about life as opposed to spelling lists and times tables. At the end one of the pupils asked me if every afternoon could end like that!"
