THE annual Leytonstone Festival kicks off today (Thursday).

The eleven-day feast of music, drama, art and other cultural activities promises to be the biggest and best yet.

A free lunchtime concert featuring pianists Viva Genova and Eileen Broster at St John's Church in the High Road helps get proceedings underway at 1pm today.

There's also the launch a new photography exhibition of life in Cann Hall between 1948 and 2012 at the Holy Tree, which is open today between 11am and 11pm.

Buxton School hosts a performance of the Jungle Book at 7pm (entry £3) tonight, while O'Neills pub has an hour of comedy cabaret with the acclaimed Pandora's Box at 8pm (entry £5).
