A PLANNING application to put vital emergency services communication equipment on Woodford Fire Station has been withdrawn.
A voluntary site notice posted close to the site in Snakes Lane West, Woodford Green, stated the proposal was intended to replace coverage which will be lost by the removal of equipment on Woodford Police Station in the High Road.
The move of the equipment led many to fear the closure of Woodford Police Station.
A spokesman for Airwave Solutions said: "The details of the equipment do not meet the requirements needed to provide sufficient communication, so we had to withdraw the application.
"The changes we needed to make materially affected the application."
The company will applying for planning permission again within the next month.
