MINI Olympians took part in track and field events and made paper torches for their own version of the Games.

Children from the Chigwell and Hainault United Synagogue Nursery were sponsored to compete in the 50 metre sprint, a relay, hurdles, cycling, javelin and shot put, raising £150 for the school.

Head teacher Melanie Kaye said: “Great fun was most definitely had by all.

“Olympic athlete Harold Abrahams would have been proud.”
