CCTV has been released of two men suspected of throwing concrete slabs at motorists from a bridge before embarking on a vandalism spree.

Police first received reports that objects were being thrown at homes in Beech Hall Road from tracks between Highams Park and Wood Street stations.

Stones were also thrown at a conservatory, causing windows to shatter at 2.20am.

About ten minutes later concrete slabs were thrown from a railway bridge near Hale End Road at cars on the A406.

One missile hit a car's bonnet, but, no-one was injured.

It is believed two men then walked along the tracks to Wood Street station, where they smashed up a vending machine at 3.20am.

Police have now released CCTV images of two men they believe hold vital information about the incidents, which took place on May 30.

Detective Constable Dave Gritton said: "The vandals put motorists’ lives in danger by throwing large heavy objects onto their cars, as well as causing hundreds of pounds of destruction to local residents’ property. Luckily there was no reported injuries, but this could have been a lot more serious."
