MEMBERS of West Essex Flower Club marked 60 years of friendship and flower arranging with a Diamond Jubilee luncheon.
More than 140 guests gathered in Theydon Bois Village Hall on Monday (July 9) for a celebratory lunch and demonstration from renowned professional arranger Michael Bowyer.
They were greeted by a spectacular creation from president Maureen Burrows, while table decorations were the work of the club's committee members.
Special guests included the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) president Pat Martin and vice chairman Jean Crane - along with the club's two longest serving local members Margaret Padfield and Ann Parish.
Members also received a congratulatory card from Buckingham Palace.
Club secretary Delia Shelley said the club was continuing to grow after six decades.
She said: "It was very successful, with 144 people sitting down for the lunch.
"We have 85 members and I think we've gained about 20 in the last six months, so we're becoming more popular."
