A ROW over a supply teacher's dismissal from a school has escalated after police were called in following allegations he has been harassing some of those involved.
Sasa Radman, 48, claims he was forced from his job after a year's service at Chapel End Junior School in Roberts Road, Walthamstow, earlier this month following allegations he assaulted a child.
Mr Radman reportedly was preventing a pupil hitting another child with a ruler back in April and says he was swiftly cleared of any wrong-doing following an investigation.
He believes he was dismissed because the school was subsequently put under pressure by the council to get rid of staff after education watchdog rated it “inadequate” and failing in a report in March.
Since early July Mr Radman, who has 20 years' experience, has been writing emails to the school's temporary headteacher, council and mayor of Waltham Forest threatening legal action and demanding an apology.
But he says police have now been called to investigate after some of those involved accused him of harassment - something he strongly denies.
He said: "They think they can solve this issue by calling the police. "I have just been writing my feelings and have done nothing wrong. I can't believe it."
A letter seen by the Guardian from the council's interim divisional director of education improvement, Rebecca Matthews, to Mr Radman states: “Your emails contain a number of threats and unsubstantiated allegations... "
Please note that neither the council or school will respond to such threats, nor does it assist you in any way.
"If you persist with the tone and content of your previous emails, we will not correspond with you and will report the matter to the police."
She added: "If you wish to raise any issues about your work at the school, please write to me in a polite manner setting out the facts of your complaint and you will receive a response."
Mr Radman, who lives in Islington, said he was angry and said his emails accused some of those involved of being “disgraceful”, but he does not believe he has broken the law.
The school and council have declined to discuss details of the case, only confirming that a supply teacher's services had been terminated.
