BOAT building, singing, dancing and African drumming all made up a high school's week long celebration of the culture behind the Olympics.
Lessons are suspended this week as the girls from Woodford County High School, in the High Road, Woodford Green, enjoy a week of Olympic themed cultural activities.
The week kicked off on Monday (July 16) with an opening ceremony with dancers and will close on Friday with a medal ceremony.
The week was organised throughout the school by the staff, who set the pupils different challenges centring on celebrating the cultural Olympiad.
One such challenge was a combination of Dragon's Den and The Apprentice, where the students had to create advertising slogans for the Olympics and design souvenirs.
The students artwork will be mounted in the schools dining hall forever, as part of the schools lasting Olympic legacy.
Laurane Turnbull, the school's Olympic co-ordinator, said: "The wonderful thing is how all the pupils have got involved and have rallied together to enjoy the week.
"I am just so proud of them, as are the rest of the staff."
Unfortunately due to the wet weather this week the schools sports day was cancelled on Tuesday.
