ARTWORK inspired by the Olympics will show at a pub from Monday (July 23).
The George, in the High Street, Wanstead, is getting into the Olympic spirit by holding the free exhibition starring artwork by the Art Group Wanstead.
The show will feature work by artist Emily Dupen and a selection of photographs showing the change in Stratford during the building of the Olympic Park by Dr Patrick Green.
Manager of the pub, Jim Morton, who studied art and furniture design himself, said: "I'm delighted to be able to help local artists' show their work."
The exhibition will run until the end of the Paralympics in September.
Wanstead artist Anna Brown has created a poster advertising the exhibition, showing the location of The George in the World, Europe, London, Redbridge and Wanstead.
More Olympic-inspired work will be shown at the Wanstead Festival on August 12, and again at The George during Art Trail Wanstead, September 15 to 30.
A fuller exhibition of Dr Green's photographs is being shown at Wanstead Library from August 13 to August 30.
