FAMILIES enjoyed an event aimed at raising the profile of a park.
Friends of Elmhurst Gardens held the annual Fun in the Park event off Gordon Road, in South Woodford, on Saturday.
The event included a bouncy castle, a welly-throwing competition, stalls and a dog show,
Chair of Friends of Elmhurst Gardens, Claire Marriott, said: "The day was lovely, families were out all day enjoying the activities and many brought along picnics.
"Once people find the gardens, they keep coming back."
The group hope to put the money raised by the event towards buying mosaics for a human sun dial or a new shed to store park furniture.
Since the Friends of Elmhurst Gardens was formed in 2007, the group have reported a decline in vandalism and graffiti.
The park has received a bronze award from the Mayor of London's Safer Park Awards two years in a row.
