AROUND 1,200 people were caught watching TV without a licence in Waltham Forest during the first six months of 2012 - far higher than neighbouring boroughs.
It compares to 830 households in Hackney and approximately 950 in Redbridge.
Those caught without a licence risk prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000, but these figures are not provided by the TV Licensing authorities.
