A VETERINARY group has celebrated 60 years of looking after animals with a torch relay across London.
Goddards Veterinary Group started life in 1952 with two practices, one in Wanstead and one in Chingford.
Now the group boasts 45 practices across London and to celebrate its diamond Jubilee with participants mounted space-hoppers, bikes and even a donkey to take the torch from practice to practice.
The relay began on June 1 in Northolt, Middlesex and finished at the Wanstead practice, in New Wanstead, yesterday (July 26).
General manager of the group, Jeremy Robinson, said: "We have really enjoyed celebrating our diamond Jubilee in the same year as the Queen.
"We had a lot of fun. It was a very enjoyable affair."
The group raised £4,000 for the Dogs Trust and Cats Protection.
