A WOODFORD band are set to perform in Hyde Park today (July 29) as part of London’s Olympic celebrations.
Rap-rock group Kickstarter, were nominated to play in the BT London Live festival by lecturers at Brighton University where guitarist Lee Avant, 20, is studying music production.
Mr Avant hails from Clayhall Avenue, while his fellow band members Ross Graham, 20, and Eliot Curtis, 20, live in Roding Lane North and South Woodford respectively.
Together with Belgian-born Rapper Laurence Ayeni, 22, the band impressed organisers of the festival with their unique combination of rap-rock, dubstep and drum 'n' bass.
They have just returned from Antwerp, Belgium where they performed a headline set at a festival and are also set to perform in Leicester, Nottingham and Southampton in the summer months.
And the group recently shot a video for their song 'Dropzone' on the streets of South Woodford.
