POLICE now say a total of 182 people were arrested during a cycle protest near the Olympic Stadium on Friday (July 27).
Officers moved in to prevent a monthly cyclists procession organised by the pro-cycling group ‘Critical Mass’ from getting too near the stadium as the opening ceremony for the Games took place.
The Met had applied conditions to the procession under section 12 of the Public Order Act to prevent cyclists from going north of the Thames or anywhere near the Olympic Route Network.
But several groups of cyclists split from the main protest of around 500 people and made their way from south London to Stratford.
178 of those arrested have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Ten people have been charged with various offences relating to Olympic and Paralympic Games tickets since the 2012 Games opened on Friday.
