CHILDREN enjoyed themselves at a fishing competition.
The tiddlers aged between three and thirteen were taking part in the annual contest at Redbridge Lakes in Roding Lane North, Woodford Green last Wednesday (July 25).
After a quick fishing lesson from a team of six expert anglers, the youngsters were kitted out with their own rods.
All of them caught at least one fish but five-year-old Daniel Mitchell won first prize for weighing in with 3lbs of fish winning a fishing pole and seat box.
And there was another surprise for the children as Olympic torchbearer Antoni Spooner turned up to hand out prizes and collect money for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
Redbridge lakes are hiring out fishing tackle to children accompanied by their parents or guardians throughout the summer holidays.
