THOUSANDS of people of all ages attended a funday organised by a group of churches.
The Olympic-themed day on Saturday (July 28) saw a patch of open space in Inmans Row, Woodford Green, transformed into five activity zones - each zone linked to a colour of the Olympic rings.
The zones comprised of arts and crafts, sports, faith, food and Redbridge council's Inspiration Roadshow.
Activities included boxing lessons, a climbing wall, food tasting and poetry readings.
One of the organisers, Jacqui Kean, director of youth and community work at All Saints Church Woodford Wells, said: "The Olympics is a big party and we wanted Woodford to have its own party.
"Lots of people said they loved it and said that it was great the day was free.
"It was also great to see the community come together and make use of the green space."
A group of 11 churches in Woodford Green and South Woodford organised the free event in conjuction with Redbridge council's Inspiration Roadshow which is touring the borough.
The churches are organising more events over the summer, for more information visit woodfordruntherace.org.
