HIGH school students took to the stage to raise £1,600 for a children’s hospice.
Pupils of Chigwell School hosted a charity gala on Friday October 5 in aid of Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford Green.
The event, which featured dance, drama and music performed by students, was the brainchild of 17-year-old Year 12 student James Harrington,
He said: “I organised, directed and performed in the gala evening and feel proud and privileged to have been able to play my part in supporting the charity.”
Hospice chief executive Mike Palfreman added: "James has pulled off a great event and raised a good deal of money for Haven House in the process.
"It’s heartening to see young people giving their time to help other less fortunate youngsters in their community."
