DETAILS of the final agreement between the council and a housing association over plans for a housing estate at Walthamstow Stadium have been published.
Labour councillors granted planning permission for London and Quadrant (L&Q)'s scheme to build 294 homes at the site in Chingford Road back in May.
But ever since the two sides have been thrashing out the financial details before submitting the plans to London Mayor Boris Johnson, who is due to make a final decision on the proposals later this month.
The council has now published the final 'draft' paperwork, which centres around money L&Q will pay the authority under a 'section 106' (S106) agreement, which is designed to compensate for the impact the development will have on the wider community.
The agreement is virtually identical to the original S106 contributions that were proposed in L&Q's planning application in May, totalling around £3.8million.
The deal also lays down the conditions for the provision of affordable housing units, currently earmarked at 60.
It allows for the proportion of such properties to be altered depending on future viability assessments, although this is capped at a maximum of 70 additional properties.
The reports also reveals that L&Q estimates to be given £480,000 in grant funding towards the development.
The S106 money includes £1.75 million for the renovation of Walthamstow's Pool and Track leisure centre, £1 million for education and £354,000 for healthcare.
Transport for London (TfL) is earmarked £286,000 for road improvements, with £250,000 for a new community sports trust and £60,000 for the establishment of a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).
