PROPOSALS to create a new Wanstead and Woodford constituency are still on track.
The Boundary Commision has been consulting the public on plans to reduce the number of Parliamentary seats from 650 to 600.
The Commission has proposed to split the constituency of Leyton and Wanstead, which is currently held by Labour, to recreate the new Wanstead & Woodford seat.
The change would also see Woodford Green divided from Chingford.
The proposed constituency would be formed of wards drawn from the current Leyton and Wanstead constituency, Chingford and Woodford Green as well as Ilford North and South.
However, plans to create a Chingford and Edmonton constituency have been ditched under the revised proposals with a new Chingford constituecy proposed instead.
The public are now invited to comment on the revised changes before December 10 2012.
