REDBRIDGE has been revealed as the sixth worst borough in London for hit and runs.
Figures obtained by the Greater London Authority show that during 2011 there were 147 hit and runs in the borough, nine of which were recorded as serious.
The figure is two lower than in 2010, when two hit and runs were fatal.
The number of hit and runs is remarkable higher than in 2009 when there were only 107 hit and runs in the borough.
The worst borough in London for hit and runs is Westminster with 218 recorded in 2011 and the borough with the lowest level of hit and runs is Kingston-Upon-Thames with 38.
