A PETITON to save a police station from closure can be signed at a church.
Lori Shearer of the Monkhams ward neighbourhood watch group started the petition to save Woodford police station from closure, in High Road, Woodford Green two weeks ago.
To date she has collected around 450 signatures, but anyone who wants to sign the petition can do so at All Saints Church, in Inmans Row on Friday and Monday between 8.30am and 2.30pm.
Concern over the future of the station was raised when borough commander Sue Williams said earlier in the year the station and Wanstead police station were unlikely to survive a cost-cutting review by the Metropolitan Police.
The Met is looking to save £500million from its budget by 2015.
