THE COUNCIL is inviting dog owners to enter their well-behaved pooches for a national award.
The animal welfare team will be staging tests for the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog award in Thornwood Village Hall, Weald Hall Lane, on Sunday October 28.
The national Good Citizen scheme is open to canines of any age and is designed to encourage responsible ownership.
Dogs should be able to walk in a controlled manner on a lead, lie and sit on command, allow their owners to groom and inspect them and come when called.
Tests will begin at 10am and owners can enter their four-legged friends for the bronze, silver and gold award.
Silver and gold entries must be booked in advance by October 22. For more information and entry forms, call animal warden Lyn Cook on 01992 564077 or email lcook@eppingforestdc.gov.uk.
