A CHAPEL was transformed into an art gallery for a day to show off the best of its members' artwork.
Epping Green Chapel marked its 150th anniversary with a one-day art exhibition featuring Christianity-themed creations from five of its members.
Among the works on display at the event, which took place on October 13, were needle-point tapestries, acrylic paintings and digitally-made pictures.
Church deacon Mary Deacon, 72, displayed a selection of artworks made using a hot iron coated in bees wax.
She also designed the chapel's new stained glass window, unveiled last week to mark its 150th anniversary.
"The picture is basically to show what we are about, that Jesus is our shepherd and we are his flock," said Mrs Deacon.
"When I first saw it actually go up, I was absolutely taken aback.
"We had quite a few people pop in to the exhibition and it was good we had so many different types of art on display."
