ORGANISERS of a two-week arts festival held in conjunction with the Woodford Festival have hailed it a success.
The Barking Episcopal Area Arts Festival saw churches including St Paul’s in Woodford Bridge, St Mary’s in outh Woodford and All Saint’s in Woodford Green hosting exhibitions of painting, sculpture and collage.
There were also concerts and poetry readings and artists even set up their easels in church aisles to do a bit of portrait painting.
Kathryn Robinson, who helped organise the programme of events, said: "The feedback from the audiences was really positive.
“Everyone said how much they had enjoyed the events, how lovely the venues were and how welcoming the churches were, too."
