YOUNGSTERS with an interest in politics can stand as Youth MPs.

Elections to the national Youth Parliament will take place at schools across Redbridge in February 2013.

The borough will send two youth MPs and two deputies to the Parliament which meets several times a year to discuss issues affecting young people.

They will also get the chance to discuss issues with senior politicians.

Anyone in the borough aged 12-17 on March 31, 2013 is eligible to put their names forward to be one of the 10 candidates.

To be considered, youngsters need to explain why they want to be a MYP, and outline what skills and attributes they would bring to the role.

To find out more or stand for election visit www.redbridge.gov.uk/redbridgeyouth and complete the nomination form. Alternatively email youth.council@redbridge.gov.uk or call 020 8708 3713.
The deadline for nominations is November 30.
