A HOSPICE is inviting people to remember loved ones over the festive season by dedicating a Christmas tree light to their memory.
St Clare Hospice will stage a series of services to allow local people to celebrate the lives of friends and family members with its Light Up a Life campaign.
Last year's events raised nearly £30,000, which almost covered the cost of running the hospice’s in-patient unit over the Christmas.
Donor care officer Laura Herring said: "This is a wonderful way to remember someone special.
"The events are open to everyone - you do not have to have experienced hospice care."
Services will take place across the district on:
- Saturday December 1 in St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood at 4pm
- Saturday December 1 meeting at Loughton Methodist Church, High Road, Loughton at 4.30pm
- Wednesday December 5 at St Clare Hospice at 7pm
- Thursday December 6 in St Martin's Church, High Street, Ongar at 4.15pm
- Thursday December 6 in Waltham Abbey Church, Highbridge Street, Waltham Abbey at 7pm
- Saturday December 8 in St John’s Church, St John's Road, Epping at 5.30pm
Anyone who would like to dedicate a light in memory of someone special, can call the hospice on 01279 773750 or email fund@stclarehospice.org.uk.
