A new jiu jitsu club entered its first MMA competition this month with eight first-time fighters.
E4 MMA & Jiu Jitsu Club's team had not even trained in a cage let alone competed in one.
The first fight of the day saw Roberto Roque, an E4 MMA fighter, nervously enter the cage only to be submitted after a great performance from both fighters.
Because of the rules stating that you can only win by submission and not a dominant performance or through a points system a great many fights went to a draw, notably Ashley Hands and Charlie Tarsey.
The only win came from Ricardo Roque with a text book perfect arm bar from the guard.
Harry Dickinson and Joe Laplain both had losses on the day but showed great heart as well as some great technique and future promise.
Matthew Hands and Henry Coates both dominated throughout their fights but were unable to finish so were both awarded the draw.
The team are now looking forward to round two in December.
