Waltham Forest Amateur Boxing Club’s Liam Dillon continued his imperious recent run of form with victory on Friday night in a re-match victory against Haroon Nikia.
Dillion had previously beaten Nikia last week at Forest’s dinner show at the Prince Regent Hotel but beat his opponent the side time in as many bouts on Friday.
As in the previous encounter, Dillion impressed himself from the first bell and had Nikia on the back foot from the off with his quick hand speed.
The teenager was able to land some telling right hooks throughout the contest edged all three rounds before another unanimous decision from the judges confirmed as much.
Delighted coach Chris Baker said: “I was very pleased with Liam, because after his recent hand injury he has boxed brilliantly twice against a very durable opponent.
“He looks very hungry back in the gym and is in good shape for our annual dinner show at the end of the month.”
