Waltham Forest Ladies had to share the spoils as they played out a 1-1 draw with Bromley and Beckenham.
Forest started the match brightly with a quick tempo and had Brombeck on the back foot.
The tricky Lucy Butcher and the pace of Charlotte Pether was causing Brombeck problems as Butcher fired wide with a back hand shot and Pether gained a short corner after being fouled in the area.
It was from a short corner that Forest deservedly broke the deadlock. After an the initial shot was blocked, Pether followed up and fired the ball on target. The ball deflected up, hit the crossbar and when it came down Butcher was on hand to tuck it away from close range.
Brombeck came back into the game and with five minutes of the half remaining were awarded their first penalty corner which they fired home to draw the scores level.
The second half was a lot more even with both teams cancelling each other out.
Player of the match Ann-Marie Perry came close for Forest while at the other end Ayleen Duske and Sam Fish cleared balls off the line.
The game ended 1-1 and while Forest will be disappointed not to get all three points, the result was probably a fair one.
Forest take on Sevenoaks at home on Saturday and will be looking to complete the double over them after beating them on the opening day of the season.
