Chingford strongman Arram Eghoyan celebrated double success as he took gold in the WPF World Powerlifting Championships before claiming third in Britain’s Strongest Man.
Eghoyan took top spot in the 82.5kg weight class at the powerlifting championships and broke a world record after lifting 278kg deadlift at a bodyweight of 81.4kg.
He then travelled to Ireland for the strongest man event.
Having become England’s Strongest Man in the Under-90kg category in June this year, the 28-year-old performed well at the British event to take third.
Reflecting on his successful year, Eghoyan said: “Breaking a world record was definitely a highlight, especially nice to do it at the World Championships.
“And the title of England’s Strongest Man Under-90kg is a good one, I’m happy with that.”
