Buckhurst Hill's lacrosse team continued their strong home form this season, comfortbaly defeating Croydon 14-4.
Bucks have suffered with a lengthy injury list in the current campaign and were once again understrength. Hill were soon in control of the game, however, with goals from Jem Wilson and Jonny McGee, supported by strong running in midfield, proving vital as they opened up a 9-0 half-time lead.
The second half was more sedate from Bucks as tired legs began to tell in midfield, and they conceded a few sloppy goals but finished strongly to run out comfortable winners.
There were a number of encouraging performances across the field, notably from Evan Hollows making his debut in midfield and in McGee’s typically direct performance in attack bringing seven goals.
Bucks can look forward to a number of players returning in the coming weeks and will hope to build on this performance in the run of games leading up to Christmas.
