Forest finished on the wrong end of a nine goal thriller last Saturday as they lost 5-4 to Sevenoaks thirds.

The hosts started the game three points ahead of Sevenoaks and looked like they would extend the gap after early goals from Charlotte Pether and the returning Georgina Zumeris put Forest two up.

Two nearly became three mid-way through the first half when Ayleen Duske found Susie Hunt with a pin-point pass but Hunt’s effort went agonisingly wide.

Spurred on by the missed opportunity, Sevenoaks improved and scored two in quick succession to draw level before half-time.

Forest started the second period brightly but soon found themselves 3-2 behind as Morag Campbell pulled off a fine save but was unable to keep out the rebound.

Georgina Zumeris hauled Forest back on level terms with a low shot but a contentious own-goal restored Sevenoaks’ advantage soon after.

With Jenny Whibley sin-binned for protesting too vociferously, Forest channelled their disappointment in the right direction and a short corner saw Pether net her second of the game to make it 4-4.

The last word was reserved for Sevenoaks though as a hard shot deflected high into the Forest net which was enough to seal a thrilling win for the visitors.

Forest’s next match sees them travel to Sudbury.
