David Ginola has come out in defence of Tottenham’s Gareth Bale after the Welsh winger was booked for diving in Spurs' last two matches.
The former French midfielder believes it is unfair to label Bale, who suffered a hamstring injury in a 3-0 win over Fulham at the weekend, a diver.
Ginola said: "The kid is doing so well. He shouldn't carry this on his shoulder. I don't understand why we put pressure on him with false ideas.
"It's unfair, you don't need a big tackle to go down; a little push would be enough to lose balance.”
He added: "I thought he was a diamond when I saw him play against Inter Milan and score three goals. He is special."
