There was a mixed night for Waltham Forest Amateur Boxing Club at their second show of the month at the Prince Regent Hotel in Chigwell.
Forest won two fights and lost four, but a number of those losses were close. Callam Chalk and Deayndra Allen both won their respective fights against tough opponents and head coach Chris Baker was delighted with their performances.
Baker said: “All of our fighters gave a great account of themselves and Deayndra was certainly the pick of the bunch.
“She always works very hard in the gym and her efforts have certainly paid off with this latest win.”
Allen defeated Orpington’s Chantelle Berimi on a unanimous decision and Chalk overcame Harry Dawkins of the Samuel Montagu club after a close-fought contest.
Forest’s Danny Fox unfortunately lost on points to Jake Mills of the Five Star Club and Nazeem Ley also lost out to Debden’s Yunus Hussain.
Experienced fighter Bradley Anderson put on a spirited display against Dynamo’s Jordan Bayou but the decision went the way of the visitor.
Finally in a fight that saw three standing counts, it was Forest’s Jordan McCarthy who came out on the wrong end of a unanimous decision against Whitstable’s Anthony Chamberlain.
