Celtic striker Gary Hooper has been linked with a move to the South coast to join Premiership new-boys Southampton.
Saints boss, Nigel Adkins, wants to be reunited with the Loughton-born player who he signed for Scunthorpe in 2008 for just £175,000.
Since then though Hooper has become a sought-after player, with his record of 63 goals in 108 games for the Scottish giants making him a hot target in England.
The Saints will however have a struggle signing the player in January with Celtic reaching the next stage of the Champions League.
