Countbacks were the order of the day as golfers entered into the festive spirit at Woodford Golf Club last Saturday.
The first prize in the Turkey Trot event was decided by the competition secretary Nick Rowe having to consult the back nine scores.
The Greensome Stableford competition came down to very small margins as novice Brian Meggs and veteran Mark Deeming, on a reduced combined handicap of 17, chalked up 41 points over 18 holes.
That was enough to just edge out Mark Rowley and John Beecroft, playing off 20, with the same score.
Meggs and Deeming each won a £30 turkey voucher, while Rowley and Beecroft were awarded a £15 one each.
In the third-place, competition Darrel James and Brian Holmes just beat Billy Tyzack and Hugh Williams on countback.
