Third XI Premier Division
South Woodford Thirds beat Upminster Thirds thanks in part to 98 runs scored by Robert Lancaster.
Lancaster’s innings set Woodford on their way to a total of 181 which Upminster were unable to reach, finishing with 149.
Martin Woodhatch was Woodford’s most effective bowler, taking four for 16.
South Woodford Thirds are away to Hainault & Clayall on Saturday.
Wanstead & Snaresbrook Thirds beat Hainault & Clayhall by two wickets.
New skipper Alan Lord took five for 46 as Wanstead bowled Hainault out for 200.
A team effort in the batting saw Wanstead reach their total for the loss of eight wickets. Shahzad Akbar top-scored with 45.
Fives & Heronians Thirds held on to secure a draw against Shenfield Thirds.
Shenfield set a target of 251 but the home side couldn’t bowl out Fives, who finished on 169 for seven thanks in part to Abbas Mirza (46) and Raheel Haider (45).
Fives Thirds are at home to Hutton on Saturday.
Third XI Division One
Wanstead & Snaresbrook Fourths earned a convincing nine-wicket victory over Upminster Fourths.
Abdul Gour was left three short of a century as his unbeaten 97, as well as 51 from Danny Mead and 18 from Ben Phillips, saw Wanstead surpass Upminster’s 184 with ease.
Chingford Thirds may have felt hard done by after they were four wickets from victory before their match was abandoned against Chelmsford Fourths.
Chingford batted first and posted 198, with Nick Shawyer top-scoring with 65.
Chelmsford were 98 for five when the contest was called off, with Richard Offord claiming four wickets for 26 runs.
Chingford Thirds host Upminster Fourths on Saturday.
Buckhurst Hill Thirds thrashed Hadleigh & Thundersley, recording a 160-run home victory.
The hosts batted first and Aniket Patel (73) and Ash Mohammed (76 not out) allowed Buckhurst to declare on 240 for four.
Hadleigh were never in contention with the bat as four wickets from Ashley White in the middle order saw the visitors finish on 80 all out.
Buckhurst Thirds travel to Brentwood Thirds on Saturday.
Third XI Division Two
Loughton Thirds lost by 100 runs at the hands of Southend-on-Sea & EMT.
Loughton elected to bowl but Southend piled on the runs, setting a target of 200.
That proved too steep for Loughton who, despite a top score of 32 for Marco Hilario, were dismissed for 100.
Loughton Thirds host Old Southendian & Southchurch Thirds on Saturday.
Third XI Division Three
South Woodford Fourths cruised to a six-wicket win over Harlow Town Thirds.
Four wickets from Saihaj Jaspal helped restrict Harlow to just 66 runs which Woodford rattled off in 23 overs.
The Fourths are at home to Leigh on Sea on Saturday.
Loughton Fourths lost to Gidea Park & Romford Fourths by three wickets.
Loughton decided to bat and were all out for 161 as Hammad Malik impressed with 67.
In the field, Umer Aziz took three wickets but Gidea Park reached the total to clinch victory.
Loughton Fourths are away on Saturday to Benfleet Thirds.
