Fourth XI Premier
Woodford Green Thirds clinched a 126-run win over Pegasus & Corringham Thirds.
Two of the more senior members stole the show, with David Baker hitting a ton on his home debut, and the evergreen Ashok Patel picking up five more wickets.
Matt Trim opened with 18 before Baker caught the eye with a superb unbeaten 104 which guided the team to 214 all out.
Pegasus were totally out of their depth and crumbled to 88 all out in 22.4 overs. Patel was in great form as he took five for 20, while Raza Ali claimed three for 33.
Wanstead & Snaresbrook Fifths beat Upminster Fifths by 25 runs.
The Herons were put into bat and posted 172 via half-centuries from Michael Griesel (58) and Afrasiyab Malik (56).
Upminster were then bowled out for 147 with Peter Apps (three for 28) and Asif Khan (four for 29) in fine form with the ball.
Wanstead are away on Saturday to Harold Wood Fourths.
Fourth XI Division One
Fives & Heronians lost to Wickford Fourths by five wickets.
Batting first, Fives posted 158 but Wickford reached the target with relative ease.
Fives Fourths are away to Chelmsford Fifths on Saturday.
Chingford Fourths held on to draw with Stanford Le Hope Thirds.
Stanford batted first and declared on 217 for seven, with Scott Prestedge (three for 51) the pick of Chingford’s attack.
Early wickets meant Chingford’s hopes of victory dwindled but a spirited display, including an unbeaten 45 from Prestedge, saw the visitors hold out with just one wicket to spare.
On Saturday Chingford Fourths face Pegasus & Corringham Thirds.
Buckhurst Hill Fourths beat Epping Thirds thanks largely to a century from Adam Peters.
Peters hit an unbeaten 101 and John Chipperfield was 55 not out before Buckhurst declared on 222 for five. Epping’s Uwais Shah (four for 66) was the pick of the bowlers.
Epping’s chase started well with top three Tony Sanderson (28), Dave Knight (45) and Saleem Raza (29) all making strong scores but the rest of the order failed to come up with the goods and they were all out for 153.
Buckhurst Fourths are away to Old Parkonians Threes on Saturday, while Epping Thirds are at home to Horndon on the Hill.
Wanstead & Snaresbrook Sixths suffered a ten-wicket defeat away to Horndon on the Hill Thirds.
Wanstead scored 106 but that total proved easy pickings for Horndon, who got the runs for no loss.
Fourth XI Division Three
Vijay Vijayanathan claimed seven wickets as Old Parkonians Fourths cruised past South Woodford Fifths.
Vijayanathan (seven for 36) led the attack and Karthegan Thavenesan took two more wickets as South Woodford were bowled out for 117.
Parkonians reached that target with eight wickets to spare as Tony Keen (54) and Gobichandru Jeevakumar (33) top scored.
Old Parkonians Fourths play Hainault & Clayhall away on Saturday, while South Woodford Fifths host Ilford Fifths.
On Saturday, South Woodford Fifths host Ilford Fifths.
Chingford Fifths lost to Hainault & Clayhall Fifths by four wickets.
Hainault bowled Chingford out for 133 before completing the chase within 15 overs.
Chingford Fifths play Loughton Fifths on Saturday.
Loughton Fifths chased down Ilford Catholic Fifth’s total to win by eight wickets.
Ilford were all out for 132, with Peter Wiliams taking four for 29.
In reply, Peter Nicholls (53) and Mohammad Ali (55) did the hard work in a convincing victory.
