Third XI Premier Division 

South Woodford Thirds staged a brilliant run chase to beat Hainault & Clayhall.

Hainault posted an impressive 250 thanks in part to Adeel Malik’s unbeaten 116.

Krishan Vadher was Woodford’s best bowler with three for 27.

South Woodford were undaunted though, and reached their target with six wickets to spare.

Omer Qureshi hit 71 and Fahad Khan was not out for 88, while James Thompson added 42 en route to victory.

On Saturday South Woodford Thirds travel to Wanstead & Snaresbrook Thirds.

Woodford Wells Thirds were beaten by five wickets away to Ilford Thirds.

Wells batted first but only managed 87, with Guy Peddy top-scoring on 28.

In reply, George Bex (three for ten) bowled well but Ilford rattled the runs away with ease.

Woodford Wells Thirds are at home to Upminster Thirds on Saturday.

Fives & Heronians Thirds registered an 86-run win over Hutton Thirds.

Number ten batsman Chris Batt scored 36 for Fives, who hit 169 all out.

Hutton never looked likely to chase that down as three wickets each for Hadder Bukhari and Saqib Kamran set Fives on track to victory.

Fives Thirds are away to Chelmsford Thirds on Saturday.

Wanstead & Snaresbrook Thirds suffered an eight-wicket defeat away at Upminster Thirds.

Wanstead were dismissed cheaply for 78, with only Jay Williams settling in for an unbeaten 22.

Upminster made light work of that total, securing victory within 17.4 overs for the loss of just two wickets.

Wanstead are at home on Saturday to South Woodford Thirds.

Third XI Division One

Buckhurst Hill Thirds beat Brentwood Thirds by seven wickets.

Brentwood chose to bat and scored 184 all out. Darren Ironside was the pick of Buckhurst’s bowlers, claiming five for 35, while Ash Mohammed also bowled well with three for 32.

In reply, Buckhurst’s Shahid Maan top-scored with 84 and Atul Sharma struck 63 as the visitors sealed an impressive win.

On Saturday, Buckhurst Thirds host Harold Wood Thirds.

Chingford Thirds beat Upminster Fourths by four wickets, with Richard Offord impressing with the ball.

Offord’s five for 17 put Upminster in trouble as the visitors managed only 77 all out.

Chingford weren’t particularly impressive with the bat either but reached the target for the loss of six wickets. Rezwan Rehman top-scored on 38.

Chingford Thirds are away to Hornchurch Thirds on Saturday.

Wanstead & Snaresbrook Fourths beat Gidea Park & Romford Thirds by eight wickets.

Gidea Park batted first but good bowling from Dev Patel (four for 29) and Rahib Hoque (two for 31) kept the total to 169.

Wanstead’s top four batsmen all made good scores, with Abhay Bygott leading the way with an unbeaten 71.

Duncan Southcott (24), Danny Mead (39) and Raja Usman (30 not out) also helped seal the victory.

Wanstead face Hadleigh & Thundersley Thirds on Saturday.

Third XI Division Two

West Essex Thirds lost to Southend-on-Sea Fourths by seven wickets.

The Thirds were put into bat first and made 181 all out, with Zain Saleem (51) and Anil Clarke (47 not out) top-scoring.

The visitors though, used a strong start to hit the required runs despite Rehan Shamim (two for 23) and Muhammad Soomro (one for 31) taking wickets.

The Thirds are away to Harlow Thirds on Saturday.

Loughton Thirds let a commanding position slip but still clinched victory against Old Southendian & Southchurch Thirds.

Loughton were bowled out for 123 as only Marco Hilario (36) and Avnish Jani (22) scored more than 20.

That modest total looked more than enough though, with Luke Williams taking four wickets as Southendians fell to 18 for six.

A late rally however by the away side’s last three batsmen, who scored 78 between them, moved Southendians to within only five runs of victory but Loughton claimed the decisive wicket to clinch victory.

Loughton Thirds host Billericay Thirds on Saturday.

Third XI Division Three

South Woodford Fourths thrashed Leigh on Sea Thirds by 168 runs with Nabil Shah scoring a century.

Shah’s 113 and Mehul Parmar’s 60 helped Woodford post a target of 250 which the visitors never got close to.

Gordon Clarke bowled superbly in his ten overs to take four for 18 as Leigh were knocked over for just 82.

South Woodford Fourths play Westcliff on Sea Threes at home on Saturday.

Loughton Fourths secured an eight-run win away to Benfleet Thirds.

The visitors were bowled out for 183, with Riki Laird top-scoring on 54.

Laird was Loughton’s main man with the ball too, taking six wickets as Benfleet finished on 175.

Loughton Fourths are away to Wickford Threes on Saturday.
