A dream final at the 2014 Ryder Cup venue Gleneagles is up for grabs for amateur Ernie Stoker and his Toot Hill PGA professional Mark Bishop in the Lombard Trophy.
Stoker, 49, from Chingford teed up the chance to play at the PGA Centenary course after he won his club qualifying competition with a score of 40 points.
He has been playing golf for 22 years and plays off a handicap of nine.
Bishop, 43, who has been a professional at Toot Hill for 16 years, will join Stoker at the regional final at Orsett Golf Club on Tuesday, June 25.
They will play one round of better-ball medal play with a chance of securing one of 16 spots available for the 36-hole final.
A spokesman for trophy sponsor Lombard said: “Well done on a great achievement.
“This is a highly prestigious event which provides a tremendous opportunity for those taking part. We are delighted to be associated with it.”
The tournament is in its 29th competitive year and attracts more than 50,000 competitors from across Great Britain and Ireland.
The National Pro-Am Championship has a total prize fund of £80,000 and if Stoker and Bishop were to win the final they would take home a cheque for £12,000.
